So, you would like to try out to be a Moderator? Or, do you wish to just learn about them? Whatever your reason, welcome! Moderators are essential parts of a RPG, and that is no different here. Without our wonderful moderators, this site would not be nearly as amazing as it is. So, let's learn a bit about the Mods of Equorum, shall we?
Duties and General Information:
- Moderators have the duty to monitor all things going on in EQ, which is mainly threads, but is certainly not limited to such. Moderators can also have certain assigned places, such as certain boards to patrol with a finer comb than others, because those threads are essentially their posts. Threads that have designated Moderators on them will list their names under the information.
- Moderators here are hand-picked, and for good reason -- only the best members can be chosen to become a moderator, and each is chosen for their own special ability, whatever that may be.
- Moderators are here to help you. If you ever run into a problem and I am not there, they are the people you must run to. Moderators are the people who watch after the site while I am away, and Moderators are a team that work together to keep EQ running as best as it possibly can.
- Moderators have the ability to enforce the law on members, and are encouraged to do so. Moderators are to be respected, and treated as one would treat me, your admin. While Moderators cannot ban nor warn you, they can report your misbehaviors to me, and I can warn and/or ban you. So please, treat your Moderators with respect, and follow the rules. Don't back-sass them, or belittle or trick them, or bait them -- doing any of this will result in a harsh warning, and a PM from yours truly.
- Moderators are not to be feared. There is no need to suck up to a Moderator. They are people, just as you and I are, and they are only doing their jobs when they're on duty. Otherwise, they're just plain ol' members, just like you and I! Don't be intimidated by a Moderator -- they don't bite! Feel free to PM them, thread with them, chat with them, beat them up (in a playful and mutual manner, of course!). Moderators are your friends, and they have feelings too, so treat them like normal people, but also understand that they deserve your respect -- especially when on the job.
- If you have a problem with a Moderator, come to me. Do not tell off a Moderator for doing something that you thought was unjust, hurting your feelings, or doing something you did not see as being right. If such occurs, PM me. Moderators are only human -- they make mistakes, and you do too. Please be considerate when around Moderators, as well as when you're around any other player.
- Moderators are expected to uphold all duties, and report to the admin should something arise and they don't know how to deal with it. If a personal matter causes for a Moderator's judgement to sway or be altered, approach another Moderator, or myself, and they can take care of the matter in an unbiased manner.
- Moderators have the power to lock, move, and delete posts or threads if they see it fit, but do not fear -- they must have good reason for doing such, and all threads that were "deleted" or moved, or locked must have recognition reported to me, along with their reasoning for doing such. If the reasoning is not valid, then I myself will revert things back to their original places and the Moderator will apologize. As said before, Moderators are only human -- they make mistakes.
- If a Moderator steps out of line, or does not fullfill their duties, they face being released from their duties with two day's notice. If this happens, for whatever reason, Moderators must wait two months before re-applying for the position, and the reasons for their departure will remain secret, so do not pry into other's business.
Job Benefits:
- Salary: Moderators are given a salary of 300$/week, as long as they follow their duties to their full extent, and remain out of trouble.
- Colored Names: If you fancy having a green name, then this little added gadget will make you excited. All Moderators bear a light green name, which separates them from other staff, as well as members of EQ, so you always know who to come to.
- Sense of importance: Moderators are important -- they are the blocks that form with other blocks to old the structure of Equorum together. Without Moderators, EQ is weakened, and we simply cannot have that.

References: (two members, staff or not, that can back up your activiy on EQ)
Reason: (In a short paragraph, simply explain why you would like to become a Moderator, and what it would mean to you to become a member of staff.)
Strengths: (be honest -- what do you think your strengths are?)
Weaknesses: (Again, honesty is the best policy)
Expertise: (Where do you excell more in? This mainly helps in deciding what you will help Equorum in if you are accepted. Are you better at horse-knowledge than the English language? Members applying will receive their assignment generally 1-3 days after applying, and assignments always vary -- one could be an essay, another a post IC, or something completely unexpected. These assignments are made to test you, and are not meant to be very simple, or very easy, but they will not be too difficult. If you are given an assignment and you do not believe that you can accomplish it, no worries. Simply let me know, and another one will be assigned. You are given three switches per application, and three tries when applying (for if you cannot meet the deadline). Assignments will be run by you through PM before being posted, so that possible assignments for others are not wasted. Please take this as seriously as I do. You are not merely applying to be a Moderator -- you are applying to work side-by-side with me to help build and maintain Equorum.
