"'Ere, little Wigglenose. Where 'ye run off 'ta, now?"
Eyes wide, scanning everything but appearing immobile, she searched. Out from the depths of the swamp, it lead her. A gift from the swamp itself, she'd say to any who asked. The murky water was still sliding off of her skin, her dark mane still holding it from when she was up her her neck in it while swimming earlier. She did not walk normally, but in a manner of almost slinking. Her mane was either caked her her neck or chest, parts of it even wrapping around her forelegs (of that which wasn't tangled and dreaded), while her tail dragged far behind her and collected random items from her home. She looked not to be equine, but something out of folk stories and myths.
Stalking forth, the fine-framed mare swayed and slunk through the ankle-high waters. It felt strange not to have a wet chest, or feel the pull of her hair as she pushed through the murky waters. Here there seemed to be no gators, no snakes, nothing large that could hide in the waters. One would never believe the things she'd seen in her life. Tossing her head to the side in an effort to throw her waterlogged mane from her eyes, Kelp snorted lightly and continued slinking around in a gangly trot through the area. Crickets were sounding, frogs croaking, and the occasional splash from the deeper waters nearby, but they weren't the sounds she was after. However, once silent, the mare paused and drew her lips lightly to expose crooked teeth.
It started like a light suction of air, which quickly progressed into a low but highly pitched bit of a chuckle, which again evolved into a soft cackle through squinting eyes and a smile that threatened to tear her lips. Soon it exploded into such a bout that she found herself wheezing and lifting her right fore in an effort to calm herself. Backing up and lashing out the right front, Kelp steadied herself in matter of moments and looked to the swamp with bright, wide eyes. "Aye, Wigglenose! Show ye'self, I ha'ent gotten all day! 'De swamp liz'ad needs me, ye'know!" Her head swayed dramatically as she threw it back while calling to the area, her hind ducking in at moments as she steadied herself and caught her breath some more from the previous spurt of noise.
"Oh Wigglenose, dun't mak'me leave'uns." An eerie voice seeped from her lips, the mare's disposition changing completely so that she was rigid as a tree and seemingly out of it.
