It was very early morning, the sun had just began to rise, a mist hung among the meadows that the king walked upon, his ears perked forward. Nostrils flared as he took in a deep breath, closing his eyes he enjoyed the crisp, fresh morning air. The dew of the grass brushed off onto the brute's legs with every step he took deeper into the meadow. It was another day in the lands of his home, but he was still missing one thing. Still aching, for one thing. "Suli." He whispered to himself. Oh how he missed her. It killed him to live every day without her by his side. He had searched for her, with no luck at all. He knew she was out there, though. He could still feel her, in his heart. In his soul.
Lifting his head, he bellowed out a loud nicker, calling for her, as if somehow she'd be able to hear him. The overo brute waited in silence, ears perked. Listening. There was nothing more that he wanted than to hear her, to see her, to touch her. A snort was emitted in response to nothing. "Please." He pleaded into the silence of the early morning. Eyes closed, and the only thing that came to his mind was that day when he had saved her from a brush fire, the fear in her eyes then. And the trust and ease in her eyes afterward. Falcon had promised her forever, had given her his life, his vow. He just wanted her back, where she belonged.
"I know you're out there, my love," He whispered, his eyes opening once more. "I just know it." The male stood there, only moving to shift his weight. There wasn't much else he could really do, he had searched, but had no luck. So he had to wait. And hope.
That was all he could do.

If someone had told Suli that she would end up where she was now just over a year ago, she would of laughed, thinking it was a silly joke. Not where as in where she physically was, but where she was in her life. Never would she of expected to end up here, in this situation she was in. Even after all the rejection the mare had suffered early on in life, that life was still a generally happy and easy one. This, though, was not. This was the complete opposite of what she had dreamed of when she was still very young. Hell, she was still young. She had gone through what most horses wouldn’t go through in a lifetime, and she was only five years old. Not all of it was bad. In fact, most of it was quite good. Falcon was probably the best thing that had ever happened to her. The stallion had saved her life not just on the day that he had saved her from a devastating fire, but in general. He’d brought her into reality. Though, that reality was a rather scary one these days.
Enveloped in her thoughts and desperation to get back to her love, she wasn’t watching her footing as much as she should have been. One false step, and Suli found herself stumbling forward. Within a second, the soft ground met her exhausted frame. The worst thing was, she couldn’t bring herself to get up. Normally, the mare would of bounced right back to her feet and continued on her way. But after such a tiring adventure, her legs and hooves couldn’t take much more at the moment. It wasn’t only that that was draining her though. She was pregnant. And it wasn’t Falcon’s foal. No, she had lost that one just weeks into that pregnancy. This foal, however, was that of another stallion. A stallion she’d not given herself to willingly. What would Falcon think if he found out?
As she lay there, breathing heavily on her side, she lifted her head to take a peak at her belly. It was only starting to round slightly, but it was there all the same. Look what you’ve become thoughts plagued her mind as her head met the ground again. She was to tired to lift it anymore. Just another carrier for another’s seed. Your mate won‘t want you anymore. She squeezed her eyes shut and fought off the thoughts valiantly. He still wanted her. This would just be a small hitch in her already dramatic life. Just a small obstacle. Suli may have been young and weary, but she was never defeated. Mustering what strength and determination she could, she took in a deep breath and let it out again in a shrill cry for help. He had to hear her, if he was even out there.
