Autumn + Kara
A sunset is such a pretty thing. All of the colors, and their hues dancing amongst the slight clouded sky. Hues of vibrant orange, pink and red streak the horizon. I heard Kara let out a yawn. It's getting late for such a young foal as she. Lay down and go to sleep dear, It's past your bed time. I nuzzled her white speckled red coat, breathing in my child's healthy scent. But Mommy, I'm not tired. I only half heard her words, as I, myself let out a small yawn. I glanced up into the deep blue sky, as a small breeze whispered through the grasses, making them brush slightly against my hocks, and sometimes stomach. I don't care. I spoke the truth. She's a growing filly, she needs her sleep. We had spent most of the day grazing, so there was no way she was still hungry, and she was playing in a springtime puddle after drinking her, not even an hour ago. Hmph Pouting. How cute. It won't work though, it never does. There's a nice spot over there you can lay down. Miss pouty. I told her sternly as I motioned to a small area of grass already pressed to the ground. It was probably used by a deer as bedding for the night. I flicked my tail at some invisible irritation. God I hope the insects aren't out yet. I. DON'T. WANNA. Great. Kara's in her stubborn mood. Ears pinned, I replied sternly. I. Don't. Care. I watched as she pinned her ears and slowly made her way to the matted green. I don't know where she got her stubborn streak. I like to think it wasn't from me, but I'm probably wrong. I walk slowly to stand guard over my girl. She's all I have left after our herd vanish. The sun is fully gone now, leaving nothing but a cool spring night. The bird's chirping slowly start becoming quieter, as the sounds of small vocal crickets strum their nightly music. Looking around, I start taking a tally of our neighbors. There's small outcrops of deer scattered around us, making this a perfect place for Kara to sleep. Should anything of danger come near, they will surly bolt. I hear a small movement near Kara. If that foal isn't sleeping yet I'm going to be angry. A quick eye in her direction shows a small brown mouse, bolting at the sound of its own step. I allowed a small smile to escape, as well as a muffled giggle. Knowing that Kara was safe at the moment, I set my gaze towards the sky, while still keeping a solid ear towards her direction. The night sky always amazed me. It was so vast, and each night it seemed almost magical how the stars twinkled without a care in the world. A star darted across the deep sky, and as naive as it sounds, I wished upon it. I wish we had a home.

Darwin The moon began to rise above the horizon, bringing with it a white light that summoned the deep thoughts of the grulla stallion. Darwin stood atop a slight hill, overlooking the mare's playground. These were free lands he was standing upon; owned by no one yet home to many.
Besides skimming through, Darwin had never been to this part of the lands. His mother had seldom left his home, staying true to her king as well as her children. A slight breeze picked up, playing with his dark hair as he stood scanning the grasses for any sign of unsuspecting life. She was here, and her coat stood out from the greens encasing it.
His hooves moved elegantly, placing themselves sturdily along the ground as he trotted down the small hill. Hello, miss. Came his voice, deep and calm. He wasn't to scare her, not when he'd come all this way. And how are you on this fine eve bellow the moon? His usual charm showed through even more when he was illuminated by his friend in the sky. "You see that in the sky, Darwin and Stella? That is the moon, and it will follow you everywhere." His mother's voice had always been the most calming thing in the world to him, and still today he could hear faint whispers of it in his sister's voice when she spoke of her mother. "It will follow you because you are special."
Darwin was never sure of his mother's statements, but he still lived by them throughout his everyday life. He would be special, different, and he would make a difference.
ooc: hope this is okay.

Autumn + Kara
I must admit, I lost myself in my own thoughts. I never heard the stallion approach, and for that, I must chastise myself for putting Kara and myself in danger. There before her was a darker stallion, taller then herself. He was too close, to close for comfort, too close to a sleeping Kara. On a positive though, since Kara isn't hiding behind me, that means she finally listened to me and fell asleep. It makes me wonder what this strange stallion is thinking however, as I keep shifting my gaze from him to the hidden clove that houses my filly. I know I shouldn't, it would give her away, but I'm paranoid, what can I say?
Slowly and surely, I make my way in front of the clove, trying as much as I can to keep distance between me and the stranger. Almost there... and BAM! I accidentally kicked a pebble right into Kara. I cursed to myself, not catching all of the stallion's words, as Kara jumped awake. Go figure, the pebble just HAD to hit Kara in the head. I ignored Kara's jumping and screeching, as I switched, and kept my focus on the stallion. Who knows what he may think of a random filly screeching and jumping around.
Sorry, I didn't quite catch what you had said. Hoping that being civil will help prevent any sort of danger from Kara's surprise appearance. I hear Kara calm to my voice, and then press herself up against my hindquarter. She's a terribly shy little thing, and for that, at the moment at least, I am grateful.
[ooc: don't worry about it, it's fine. I just hope mine's decent enough lol]

The mare's moves where not a shock; she was smaller then him and most mare's seemed not so keen on strangers who where larger then them. The filly however, was a complete shock to the grulla as she jumped and moved about. He couldn't help but jerk his head up in alarm for a moment. Darwin had no children of his own yet, though because of this very awkwardness he wanted to have them.
Hello, ma'am. I'm Darwin. He offered the troubled mare a smile of sorts stopping where he stood and lowering his head. And I asked how you are on such a fine knight under the moon. It became more of a statement then a question the second time it left his lips. She was a beautiful color as well as her filly; he envied the brightness of them. His brown eyes waited calmly for her to decide if she wanted to converse with him, although it would have been disappointing, he would have gladly left her in peace if that was what she wished.

Autumn + Kara
So the stranger's name is Darwin. I'm not quite sure if I think the name fits him or not. Hello Darwin, My name is Autumn, and this is my filly Kara. It is nice to meet you. For a stranger, he seemed nice enough, I could only hope he was.
I felt Kara inching forwards still pressed against my side. Probably so she could get a better look.
I looked up, towards the bright yellow orb in the night sky at Darwin's mention of the moon. I am not doing that bad tonight. The moon gives off such a nice glow, that it puts me at ease.
Looking back at him, I decided was a good a time as ever to ask. Tell me Darwin, Are these your lands? I have been wandering for so long, that I am not quite sure where I am, nor who's lands these belong to. I do not wish to intrude.
[occ: i hope that's ok, I'm having a major brain fart as what to say. >.>]

No no, he mused, shaking his head slightly. You are upon the lands of the free. After the words escaped his mouth, Darwin wished to take them back. These lands belong to no one but are open to all. I however reside north of here; my territory is Kuylin, the mountains you can see on the horizon. He corrected his statement nicely. The mare was so inocent looking, and the fact that she didn't know where she was made her even more vulnerable. May I ask why you have been wandering? He felt slightly obliged to care for this mare he had stumbled upon, as well as her filly. He was prepared to escort them, even to offer them refuge in his own kingdom.
ooc: its totally fine, feeling kinda weird for me too, writing with Darwin before the fight xD

Autumn + Kara
Ah, So this is free lands. I'm slightly surprised, as this land is gorgeous and that no one has tried to take it over for themselves, although, I'm glad that everyone has such a gorgeous place to gather without worrying about territory.
I glanced to the north, towards the lumbering mountains in the distance. In the dark sky, it was slightly hard to see, yet the stars seemed to dance around snow caps.
Hmm... Should I tell him the reason I have been left wandering alone with a baby at my side? Would he understand? Or just see mare who can produce offspring? What the hell, why not? Back when Kara was just a newborn, she needed some practice walking. So I took her for a short walk. When I returned our herd was nowhere to be found, and we have been searching for either them, or another place to call home ever since.
I hope that wasn't too blunt, I'm still not quite sure if I could trust him, but so far he hasn't seemed to wish harm on us. But if he could at least help us find a herd, I would be in his debt.

He found it hard to imagine just losing a herd. If he ever lost his herd, small though it was, he would feel awful. Well that doesn't sound all that well. His comment was vague as he continued to think about the things she'd brought forth. You would be safe here, although it seems a lonely life to live. He continued his pondering, his face scrunching slightly in a deep thought. Everyone, not posing a threat, is welcomed in my lands. The child was small, and surely not yet built for mountain climbing, but it was worth a try. There are meadows at the base of my mountain that I'm positive you and yours will enjoy. It felt so odd for Darwin to recruit. He hadn't ever ventured out of his territory to do it before, but this mare needed his help. Fall would come soon, and then winter; there was no reliable protection here.
ooc: so with the whole fight thing... idk what you want to do with her? I think we're coming to the end of this thread...

Autumn + Kara
Did I just hear him correctly? Is he really offering me refuge in his lands? Is that an invitation to your lands? I asked hopefully. We have been wandering alone for too long.
[occ1: I believe you are right about the thread ending lol, I don't know what else to say, so, I'm sorry it's so short. xD]
[occ2: I've been trying to figure out what fight you have been talking about with no success, so now i figure I should ask. What fight? Is there a topic about it that I can read up on? lol]
[occ3: I actually have absolutely no plans for Autumn and Kara. I mean, for all I care they could watch a fight, or be stranded again, or follow him to the mountains. The only thing I would like, is for her to eventually find a herd to live in. xD]

occ: Okay thanks, I haven't had a chance to read the fight yet, but I'll probably have them browse around the mountains while the fight was going on, and not know the winner until I meet someone. xD
