Kiara Winter, although slightly shocking, was an absolute thrill ride for the little black mare. Being born in the desert was fun and all, but the cold white sand that her mother called snow was just wonderful. With a family of black coats it also made it easier to goof off and not get lost.
She was old enough to be on her own now, yet still Kiara chose to stay near her mother and father. When Judus left, he broke their hearts and she couldn't bring herself to do it all over again. The freckled faced equine did however enjoy time to herself every once and a while.
Today Kiara had taken the time to run off into some thicker places of winter. She'd found a patch of deep snow where the tree's had failed to hold it on their branches. Immediately with a youthful squeal she jumped full force into the pile, exploding it up and out and all over her ebony body. As she continued to play a light steam was beginning to emanate from her back as the snow melted.

Baelquisani always felt like home. Even with the cold temperature and seemingly endless white, Damian felt welcomed here. Such a place so contrasted where he grew up... The sands of Shahir were unforgiving and made one itch to find a new home. Had he perhaps found the perfect place? The mountain scene behind the beauty of the valley... Simply stunning.
As the roan stallion walked through the winter wonderland, each step surrounded his hooves in untouched snow, melting almost instantly around them. He hated to disrupt the stillness, but the colt inside of him compelled him to. He glanced this way and that, making sure that no one was near. Damian smiled quietly and pranced slowly through the snow, turning around periodically to see what tracks he'd left. He backtracked, attempting to only step in his prints from before. The stallion was successful for the first few steps, but by his fifth step, he decided to reach for a distant one. Bad idea.
The fully grown stallion fell into the snow, leaving this time a body print instead of just a hoof print in the snow. His head raised immediately and then laid back down in the cold snow with a hearty laugh. As he chuckled, his barrel moved accordingly. "That'll teach me," he said to himself with a smirk. Damian remained on the ground for the moment, allowing the snow to cool his side.
At the sound of a young horse, Damian remained down, hoping not to be spotted...

Kiara. The naive freckled mare didn't notice her company until it was too late. She thought the roan to be only a shadow laying over a patch of displaced snow, little did she think of the hoof prints leading away from it. Kiara heard his breathing first causing her to pause in her frolicking. She was standing towards the back of him, looking down towards his head. Only a few feet separated her from the base of his neck.
With a tilt of her head and a few tiny steps forward she looked down onto him. Hello there. She found him rather silly to be laying in the cold fluffy snow. Is this what the native snow dwellers do in the winter? What are you doing down there? She tilted her head from the right to the left continuing to gaze down onto the stallion. Rather odd. She thought, her face twisting cutely in confusion.

Blast... He had been found. A young black filly teetered over him with curiosity in her words. With a sigh, Damian sat up on his rump, his head facing her. What could he say that wouldn't seem so boring...
"What was I doing? What was I doing? Wasn't it obvious?" his voice crescendo-ed. With a smirk and a whinny, Damian picked up a hoof and planted it back onto the ground, the frost disrupting beneath him. "I was listening to the earth, of course!" His tone accentuated his point that this was a normal occurrence - he and the Earth were buds. "I was asking it if it was too cold covered in all this snow! I, for one, would hate to be coated with it for an entire season, wouldn't you?"
He usually wasn't so talkative, but the filly had asked for an answer, and he didn't want to embarrass himself by speaking the truth. What grown stallion just fell? It just was not a normal thing and Damian would have to not make a habit of it.

Kiara. Listening to the earth? How curious, she thought. Snow continued to lightly fall upon Kiara's black back as she stood watching the stallion sit up in an odd position upon his rump. Well I certainly wouldn't know that. She answered his question with her face twisted in confusion. This is my first snow, and my first time north of the forest. She wondered if he could actually have a conversation with the dirt beneath its white blanket.
Not that this is my first winter, I'm nearly three. Her tail flicked with a slight excitement at the statement. She'd stayed with her fretful parents a full year longer then her brother and she would soon be able to leave their grasps. Quietly she lowerd her freckled face into the snow so that her nose fell beneath the snow line. For a few moments she kept it there, allowing her breath to melt an area around her nose before she returned to full height. It is cold though, isn't it?
ooc: He's sooo cute! <3
