Cleopatra. The dun mare's sides bulged out in a sickening fashion as she waddled about the land above the canyons. Cleo had no idea where she was, nor how to leave for that matter, and the pregnancy was making her restless. She was restless and starving, constantly.
At a young age, she wasn't prepared for this. Cleo hadn't even been able to imagine what may happen when this thing inside her got to big for her stomach. Ahh. Another kick hit her directly in the kidney. Oh, dear god. There was nothing to eat up here in the red rock, the king, and father of this thing, hadn't come to walk her very often after she began to show. Basically, full of raging hormones, for obvious reasons Cleo was done.
As quietly as she could she stood on the edge of the canyon, not to close as to not mistakenly fall over the side, but close enough to threaten it. I'm going to do it! she screamed at anyone who could hear. So help me god, I will jump off of this ledge if someone doesn't come and help me find some food. Cleo would never pull the trigger, but she had definitely cried wolf before.

Such a different place than what she was used to. The vast, endless red canyons of this place were a far cry from the lands of Covell. Both the scenery and the weather were at two separate ends of the scale. Where as her homeland had been relatively cool and green, this place was hot and dry. Even now, on the edge of winter, the canyons made her body sweat and her parched throat to cry out for water that was much to hard to come by.
It had been some time since she had parted from a certain brute she’d met, with her stomach just starting to show the signs that his seed had indeed been planted. Miesque had started to miss the big stallion within hours of her departure. And now, weeks after, she found herself feeling at a bit of a loss. She had told him she would go to mountainous area. This, indeed was a mountainous area. Not that it was her ideal home. She had been thinking more of snowcapped mountains more gray in color that what surrounded her now. But, deep within the never ending red pillars of rock around her, she didn’t seem to have a choice. She was lost.
As the bi-colored mare slowly meandered along, the sounds of others words caught her ears. She wasn’t sure what the hell they were saying, but the voices were there. Halting, she looked around for a moment, as if searching for the source of the voices. In a place like this, though, they could be coming from anywhere, echoing off the countless high walls around her. Big, brown eyes searched and searched, but found nothing except the blue sky peeking from the tops of the plateaus high above. Her head lowered from the position it had been in, there was a foreboding feeling creeping up on her. Had she grown claustrophobic? Now was a hell of a time to find out, considering there was no way out.
The voices came again.
Head shot right back up, her body spinning around to face one way, then the other, and then another as her heart pounded away in her chest. Air burst from her nostrils, resulting in a snort. “Calm down, girl” she told herself in a whisper, shaking her head and then suddenly noticing a path leading up to above. Looking around herself and at the several different passes around her, she couldn’t remember which way she had come. The spinning around hadn’t helped, probably. It was at that moment that she decided maybe getting up high would help her to see better around her, and decide on which way to go. And so, she headed up the path. It was narrow and steep, but she made it to the top without stumbling to her death. To her dismay, there were even MORE steep walls up there. And it was up there that she came upon two horses. Neither of them looked very happy. There was a mare standing by a ledge, and she was obviously pregnant given her size. The other was a stallion, whom didn’t look to friendly.
"If you're quiet I can show you some food... Though it doesn't look like you really need it."
Her ears flattened back at the way he spoke to the heavily pregnant female. Miesque wasn’t one for having sympathy for another mare. Hell, she wasn’t one for disliking stallions, either. But by the way he was speaking to the other female, she instantly took to disliking the brute and feeling bad for the mare. She could of easily just turned and left. It would have been simple to stay out of it, but Miesque almost felt fear for the other mare. She wasn’t one for confrontations, but the mare couldn’t let this stand! “Hey!” she spoke up, stomping a hoof and holding her head up high before taking several steps forward, though was still spaced at least thirty feet from them. “Don’t speak to her like that!” she gave the brute an ‘or else’ look, though she wasn’t sure what she’d actually do about it if he retaliated.

Cleopatra. She absolutely did not enjoy the presence of this stallion. His sickening sneer haunted her as he circled around her. She backed away from the edge now afraid of his antics; she knew what a stallion could and would do. A light huff escaped her lungs as her mind raced. She had no way of defending herself today, not with this thing in her stomach. Truthfully she didn't even realize what harm it could do, only that she couldn't move very fast at a waddle.
"Hey, don't speak to her like that!"
Cleo hadn't noticed the beautiful paint mare until she spoke, but once her presence was known it hung heavily in the air. Cleo couldn't tell for sure, but Cleo sensed the mare was in a younger stage of what she had. Yes, I do not appreciate your tone. The red dun tried her hardest to make her voice boom against the walls of the canyon. Brute walk, she thought as the other mare approached further.
