Astarael
Well, this is certainly a new place. It's certainly very different from home...
The thought was a bemused one, as the silver grulla mare stared up at the towering pillars before her. Blue eyes took in minuet details of the vast rock face before her. She had only known towering trees and the like; she had never imagined the outside world would be something like this. She had naively assumed the world looked very much like her home - or what had been home, anyways - simply because it by itself was so vast. Did that mean there was more places like this, that were very different from her birthplace? Oh heavens, did that mean the world was a much larger place than she had originally though?
She had a lot to learn, it seemed.
The brindled mare snorted, laying her ears back into her silvery colored mane briefly as her blue eyes finally tore themselves away from the pillars. The land itself was relatively empty, which probably should have been a red flag of a warning in the back of her mind. However, the brindled mare could really care less. So what if there was a little bit of danger? She liked danger. It made things more exciting. Besides, what was the worst that could happen to her? It's not like there was any big bag monsters out here...No, it was far too open for that.

EZTLI. With all the activity buzzing around lately, one would think that the King of this action would be tired from everything he'd seen lately. It was quite the opposite, really. He was fired up, raring to go, and he was out seeking more and more. His ambition to own others was growing, as was a deep greed that began sprouting in the recesses of his mind. He trotted around his home with high steps, his head equally high and his muscles tingling from the motions. He was king of the Mael, King of these mares. He owned them all, and he was powerful. Just like father, a small voice called from the back of his mind, and Eztli halted with an angered grunt. Snorted harshly, his ears slapped to his skull, the stallion looked around quickly -- as though something still living from the past had voiced the words. "He is dead, he was nothing." He was everything, he has built his entire being into you. You and your father, you are one in the same. Stamping a hoof fiercely, the stallion shot his eyes around his home. "I will never be him." The brutish horse growled, lowering his head and building his muscled up tensely. He dared the speaker to present itself.
But nothing came, and nothing ever would. It took Eztli a few minutes to realize this, and with an angry grunt the stallion stood back in place and snorted harshly before continuing on. That was how things were happening, lately. He was seeing things that weren't there, hearing things that weren't said, and remembering things that he could have sworn never happened. He didn't quite like it, so he consumed himself more into the mares he played with than normal. It was more common for the routines to be daily anymore, other than bi-daily. He would never admit that something strange was going on, and even more would he never admit that the plants he'd been visiting (almost as much as his mares) were messing with his mind. It just wasn't him, his pride welled too much for him to admit something like that.
The stallion carried himself forward in his land, scenting the air for rogue stallions or mares, hoping that the mares would be the ones he met over the stallions. He was happy he'd not seen stallions around here lately. There wasn't really room for them here, unless they brought mares with them. Then there would be room for them. Stallions, on their own, were worthless to the King. He'd no need for them. The winds played with his mane as he went forward, dancing with the strands and pulling everything backward and from his eyes. The stallion squinted lightly, but kept the pace regardless. He needed this time, honestly. Now perhaps, if he could find a lone mare...

Astarael
She wasn't left to be bored for long. Through her hapless wanderings, and lack of attention, she had stumbled into a land far from where she originally called home. Vastly different, she was unsure if she wanted to continue or not. What could lie in the distance, just on the other side of the horizon? There was always something just out of reach...It all depended on if she wanted it or not.
Did she? Did she really want to take the risk that something not so pleasant laid not far a head of her?
Yes, yes she did. And nothing was going to get in her way of obtaining whatever it was that was drawing her to this strange, alien-like land. Her attention, however, was swiftly caught by an odd looking lizard. Amused by the lizards bizarre appearance, her muzzle dropped close to the ground as she followed behind it. The more she followed, the more amused she became, since the lizard was constantly zig-zagging away from her shadow in fear. A giggle escaped from the grullo mare as she continued to torment the lizard, at least, for a few more passing moments. It wasn't until something else caught her attention did she realize how far she had wandered. In the distance was a figure, much larger than her own, commanded her attention. Her curiosity getting the better of her, the mare moved forward - she couldn't deny what could possibly come out of this encounter.

EZTLI. Nostrils flaring, the stallion rose his head and scanned around the area. Not much to scan, really, but he did so nevertheless. There was something in the air, something that caught his attention -- and it wasn't his plant, which was upsetting in and of itself. But it was another perk he enjoyed about being King. All of the mares, they belonged to him if he so chose. And with there being little to no stallions on his land, he never had to hear a male nag him for claiming his "beloved" for the night, or whatever. Scoffing lightly, Eztli shuffled some in place and looked around. Inhaling deeply, it wasn't long until she came into view.
Simply the figure, but mare nonetheless. An eager smile burst from his lips, his teeth nearly showing in the intensity of the gesture. Thrashing his tail quickly, the stallion pranced in place some and built up his energy before trotting slowly toward the stranger. She was a stranger, and that was more exciting than if she was someone from his herd. He loved his mares, but some were just old news. As he approached, he didn't even try to hide the sensations that were exploding within him. Excitement, adrenaline, testosterone -- he was all stallion, and these mares unleashed him. In many ways, he was only whole when around a mare.
The smile lowered to a smirk, eyes glittering as he came before her, sweat glistening in his fur, causing his coat to shine ever more brightly. Snorting softly, the King came around her and quickly ran his eyes over her, his flanks trembling in excitement. Everything from before was no more -- all that mattered was this mare. This mare, and him.
"Good Afternoon, miss." His voice rumbled, the mock hospitality trying to work its way into his words so he could lure her in quickly. "What brings you into my humble abode?"
