Cleopatra & Cassiopeia Frankly put, there was nothing in this place for her, or at least nothing that she could see at the moment. I'm bored.Came Cleo's deepened voice, causing Cassie to jump at the sudden sound. The grassland they had been traveling through had taken a toll on the poor mare's nerves, each and every shadow threatening a pack of wolves that may sweep in and eat her up.
Hurry up I think I see something up ahead. The darker of the two instantly picked up her pace, hotly raising her head as she moved. What is it?Cassie mused after her nervously. She didn't want to encounter whatever it was her twin had caught in her blue eyes, but she found herself moving faster to catch up to her taller, scarier sister. Don't scare it Cleo. Please.
It wasn't anything to be afraid of, and as soon as Cleopatra was sure it was only a river she found herself barreling against the ground to get to it. Come on Cassie! The two were still rather young; they had just recently left their mother, and yet no fear clasped Cleo's eyes. But Cleo, what is it? Cassiopeia's legs were shorter, her breath was shorter, and all around she was always the second twin. Wait, I can't see! Her voice pleaded as she gasped for breath between each uneasy step.
Oh, come on baby! Its water! Cleo didn't slow as she reached the calm expanse of a river, plunging in immediately and sending a wave of water across her white splashed chest and face. This is what I call fun. She hadn't quite learned that life wasn't all about fun, and her defiance as a filly had surely damaged her dam's will to teach her this fact.
Cleo. The light one mused standing at the edge of the shore. You mustn't do stuff like this. What if something big and hungry was down here? Both white face's stared at each other for a few moments; one wet and messy and one dry and, although slightly stressed, calm. A gentle hoof stamped the ground as Cassie turned to watch for danger as her sister entertained her need for something... less boring then life.

“My my, what do we have here?” The bachelor whispered, tsking softly to himself as if to scold the array of mischievous thoughts that came to mind. A pair of uncannily similar mares had stopped at the river; he had been following the stretch of water for some time now. Scouting out suitable females to take on as companions – well, band mares really, he was still torn between acquiring a collection of broods or a more sophisticated batch of women that would be able to fend for themselves should he wander off for any considerable length of time. He had scouted out a few a while back, a fiery paint, and a supple chestnut, the latter of the two would be little more than his play thing, he already knew that much. She was naïve for the most part, although there were certain aspects that, if broken in properly, would make her a powerful individual. That was the game plan anyways, make the poor thing fall head over heels for him and then when everything seems too good to be true – which it obviously will be – beat her down into a more respectful individual. It was… backwards at best, but mares just don’t seem to learn unless they’re put through drama. A hushed scoff escaped him at the thought. The things mares made him do to them. Flaunt yourself like a whore? You get raped. Act like a naïve child? Get a reality check courtesy of yours truly.
The young mares seemed at odds with one another, the larger, darker of the two was more outgoing and well… immature; whilst her lighter, more petite sister – Novak was assuming at this point that they were twins – was shy and more mature, but painfully high strung. He watched them curiously as they bickered, or rather as the lighter one scolded her sister for being reckless. She had then stamped her hoof and turned towards Novak, who was by then at most 60 yards from the pair. He didn’t stop his slow, steady walk, each leg raising rhythmically to place a hoof before the other, his white head slightly lowered in an at ease position. In contrast his ears were perked, attentively pointed towards the pair of youth. He nickered to them, his voice deep and warm, if a tad sarcastic. “Indeed Cleo, you never know when something big and hungry might spring up from the depths.” He chuckled softly, heck you never know when a big, hungry Novak might show up… He left the gap between them at a respectable horse length, perhaps two. His head dipped in a polite nod as he stopped, before raising back up to its full height. He watched them quietly for a moment, assessing how to go about the bother of introducing himself, let alone how to convince the two of him to follow him back to Tjos. He could see the darker mare, Cleo, being all for the sense of adventure and “fun” of so dangerous a home range. Her sister however, who’s name Nov had failed to overhear, wouldn’t necessarily be as excited to call the hills home.
He leaned back slightly, tipping up a back hoof casually as he did so. “But you know, as exciting as all that is Winril is rather lacking in the thrill category.” His voice carried a bored tone that was entirely honest. Novak had been born and raised here, and aside from the occasional hazard of wolves he had always found the flat expanses of grass to be rather on the dull side. Tjos was a complete opposite, a mix-matched mash of bare rock and sodden hills that rolled choppily as far as the eye could see – which wasn’t far. It was, in a peculiar way, homey. That is when you put aside the knowledge of large birds of prey lurking overhead and wild cats slinking about. The birds weren’t really a concern, unless you were a foal, then by all means they were a considerable threat. To a full grown horse they were little more than a sentinel, predator or not they did seem to be keen on scavenging cat’s kills. So it was wise to keep an eye on the birds’ general location in addition to a general dedicated look out. He had grown absent minded for but a moment, blinking back to the present where the mares still stood before him; a soft smile tugged at his rosy lips. “Pardon me ladies. I am Novak, aspiring bachelor of Winril intent on the kingship of Tjos.” He bowed slightly to them a second time. “And the two of you would be?” His voice was smooth and sure, it was, as far as he was concerned, what a King was supposed to sound like. Not that he was one just yet, but he would be, he was sure of that. The two dames before him would help him guarantee the matter. Over confident? Perhaps, but if you don’t believe in yourself no one will, his father had taught him that much by being a poor excuse of a band stallion that lost his mares to a three year old step son. Novak refrained from pinning his ears as the memory crossed his mind. His father had been pathetic, he would not, could not follow in that sniveling excuse of a brute’s hoofsteps.

Cleopatra & Cassiopeia. As Cassie turned away from her sister, she closed her eyes slightly while shaking out her mane in annoyance. She was obviously a lot more mature, respectable then her "big" sister no matter how much better Cleo may have been. Huh, she scoffed to herself, she didn't even need the reckless brute. Things would be a lot easier without the constant invitation for danger. Cassie imagined herself alone on the plains and the thought, although slightly scary, seemed much more accessible then it had only a few weeks ago.
Her blue eyes opened, looking upward into the great expanse of sky above her. She loved the breeze when it played lightly with her mane, and today was no exception for the small delight. What she didn't expect was the extremely close, multicolored stallion that stood before her. He was larger then her; maybe even taller then her sister, Cleo. CleoCleoCleo! She froze, just like the old days, when she and her mother would come across a lone stallion. Her mind simply couldn't deal with it, the threatening sight of it.
Cleo caught the paint in her eye not long after her twin and immediately left the cool water behind as he spoke her name. "Well Novak", she hissed, waisting no time with introductions. "What thrills would you know about?" Cleo snaked around her sister stopping just in front of the petrified little thing. She was very intrigued by this stallions coat. She had inherited an interesting coat at birth, but she had never scene such painted markings on anyone outside of her family. She didn't bow to him, nor dip her head; but this was not a three year old's slip of manners. Cleo always acted like this with members of the male species. They were fun, exciting even, and she was going to make the most of this encounter even if Cassie stayed frozen the whole time. "The name's Cleopatra."

For being so high strung it was shocking that it had taken the smaller of the two mares so long to notice him, and when she did, well Novak wasn’t sure what happened. She froze up, downright stopped dead in her tracks and just stood there looking terrified. He supposed she was the sort that feared stallion’s, he snorted, flicking his ears back to portray his slight confusion. “Many… Did I break your sister?” A deep seated chuckle broke from him at the thought. Breaking a mare simply by showing up? It was preposterous. He was sure some of the uglier brutes lurking around might be able to manage it, but as battle scarred as he was he was still quite the looker. Novak’s attention reverted to the bolder of the two, who had stepped in front of her sister – the living statue. “Well Cleopatra.” An edge overcame his steady tone as he spoke her name – she was a rude piece of work, he would enjoy dishing out the pleasantries in return. “Games… innocent little games; then again not always so innocent.” He eyed up the pair of them, his bicolor eyes resting on the petrified sister for a moment. Yes, be scared little girl, Novak’s got his eye on you. His attention once again reverted to Cleo, taking in her sleek painted pelt and that attitude of hers.
What would Aiden think of him? Standing here harassing a pair of young mares… Aiden didn’t know him for who he was, but then again Novak didn’t even know himself very well these days. He liked the petite spitfire, she was after all the first mare that had agreed to join him. It was a rather bittersweet moment, for although she was his, she carried another’s seed. He still wasn’t sure what he would do when Aiden foaled, kill the little bastard? Or allow it to live? He supposed it was up to Aiden – but given the chance he’d snuff out the little beast’s light without second guessing his actions. He rolled his shoulders, stretching a little as he mentally shook off the onslaught of thoughts. Aiden would know his true colors soon enough, and whether or not she chose to embrace it was her own choice, though he secretly wished she would stick by his side despite his cruel tendencies.
A soft smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth, this duo was going to be an interesting endeavor. The combination of fear and intrigue was intoxicating. If he could have his way he would have mounted the both of them and escorted them off to Tjos to be his play things. Or maybe just Cleo… and made her sister all the more terrified of him. It was all so sentimental, thinking of the things he would like to do, but what could he do? He stepped forward, kicking his legs into a typical circling pattern around the two, he travelled at an exaggerated trot, and his neck arched back as he looked them over more thoroughly. “How about the two of you join me, hmm?” He nipped at Cleo’s side, skidding to a halt as soon as he was shoulder to shoulder with her, slightly boxing her between himself and her sister. ”It’d be a riot.” He grinned mischievously, his eyes flickering between the two to see how they were reacting. Though his chin was tucked should Cleo decide to lash out, he turned his head the slightest in order to see whether or not miss statue had snapped out of her daze yet or not. If she hadn’t things would really get interesting, and if she had, then he would have to consider dialing down his antics so as to remaining relatively unthreatening. Not that he couldn’t take these two, he’d dealt with worse, but two against one never really was much fun.
OOC: I’m noticing that claiming isn’t really mine (or Novak’s) forte xD it’s a shame he’s not legit King yet, otherwise he’d just force claim them :’D [/justify]

Cleopatra & Cassiopeia. At the age of three, no male company of the loving sort had ever come calling for Cleopatra. Some would almost consider her to not be on the side of male affection since she was always seen with her not so identical twin sister. But, despite all opinions on the matter, Cleo had practiced the ways of "courting" with herself and her childhood friends many times. The dun knew she wasn't a pro, but she couldn't help to think she had a knack for it.
Her ears were pricked forward, toward the painted stallion standing before them. Her front legs held directly under her shoulders while her back legs stretched out slightly and her neck sloped elegantly down. This was a commonly used pose to this slightly thicker mare; although it seemed awkward for most equines it was a perfectly feminine way to show of her muscles. A test of the stallions true intent.
Huh, she laughed to herself as he chose to circle around the twins in a bouncy, exaggerated trot. He looked rather funny to Cleo, but to Cassie he became the stallion that was after them. As he moved around them, she watched timidly moving to the opposite side of her sister so as to stay as far away from him as she could. Her muzzle brushed against her sisters skin, and although she expected the mare to flinch slightly, she senced only calm coming from Cleo. What? Really? At a time like this? She just couldn't understand it, her sister. She was still frightened and yet Cleopatra was playing with him.
Join him? The thought touched Cleo's mind briefly before it returned back to her sister, who was so close she could feel the mare's breath down her back. His nip, although playful, came rather close to her for a complete stranger. She shot her head at his ear in response, showing a slight hint of her normalcy to dominance. No thanks. Her dun tail flicked harshly against her sisters face as she shifted her weight forward. Cassie, this is no time to freeze.
ooc: shes all like "b**** pleeeeez" xDDD shes gonna get herself into some big trouble some day. -snuggles-

Oh it was good fun watching the smaller mare dance around her sister in a rather successful attempt to avoid him. He huffed softly, both amused and disappointed that they were so keen on being difficult. Novak was patient, usually, he supposed it was just the sense of urgency, the need to have mares so that he didn’t have to forfeit his claim to Tjos. He openly laughed at Cleo’s show of dominance, but her reply caught him off guard. No thanks? What was this rubbish? His lips sealed shut, cutting off the laugh and leaving his expression rather blank. His ears flicked backwards as he made eye to eye contact with the bold mare. ”Well aren’t you boring. His tone was flat and rather matter-of-fact; his eyes rolled as he turned away from her. Then, as if to emphasize his comment his teeth set to work chewing at a particularly itchy patch on his hip.
Was she worth the bother? Maybe, maybe not… He enjoyed bold, but outright disobedient was just asking for trouble. Rather it meant he would eventually get downright fed up with her and either push her off a cliff or beat her up. His muzzle wrinkled at the thought. Was he really that malicious? Well… Yes, if nothing else Novak was the King of Games; being outdone by some thick skulled mare wasn’t exactly on his to-do list. Then what about her sister? He glanced at the wary mare. She was still wall-eyed, keeping him in her sites even though she hid behind her larger sibling. He stopped his chewing momentarily, taking the time to simply stand there, as awkward as the position was, and stare back. He fathomed that the three of them must’ve looked quite outrageous to anyone passing by. His ears pricked at the notion, his oddball eyes shifting around in their sockets to scope out the river valley. No one. Suuuuper.
A short yawn broke from him as he aimlessly flicked his tail back and forth. A few brisk whisks across the mare’s hip weren’t even meant as a ploy, he was in all actuality rather bored with the situation. He could go all postal and rape them, but that would defeat the purpose of trying to get them to join him. Not to mention he doubted his mare Aiden would continue to accompany him if she found out he was one of those jerks. She had after all been infiltrated by another roaming brute... Novak gritted his teeth at the memory; the blue eyed spook would certainly get a good one-two from him if he ever had the misfortune of crossing Novak’s path. So what to do? Get serious? Count his loses and walk away? He shook his head both due to anger from the memory and frustration with his current situation. He needed a pick-me-up, but what? Ah! The scaredy-cat mare! He turned around casually, to face the same direction the smaller sibling was, and then began walking. There was nothing significant about the pace; it was just a walk that carried him around Cleo to hypothetically come face to face with her sister. Not that he counted on the petite mare sticking around long enough for him to actually reach her, but that was the fun of it.
OOC: Trouble definitely; Novak is just debating whether or not he wants to be that trouble xD

Cleo side stepped away from her sister as well as Novak after she saw him begin to chew at himself, but Cassie stayed put, frozen once more to the spot she had felt safe in moments before. He noticed her statue like stature from the moment he saw her, but now he chose to act on it, approaching her head on.
The thickening flutter of her heart seemed loud enough to be heard for miles, and with each beat of her rising blood pressure her legs threatened to give out beneath her. Don't come closer, Don't come, Don't... His approach was slow, and each agonizing step rushed through the already terrorized little mare. Don't,Don't... She pleaded with him silently, but as he got even closer her tone from within got more and more threatening.
Please. Please don't do that. Her ears, involuntarily, shot back against her skull in warning. Also involuntarily, Cassie barred her teeth at this threatening stallion. Her hooves remained glued to the spot, but with each of his steps her features seemed to grow more and more threatening back. Cleo's face didn't hide the shock of seeing her extremely shy sister be so testy. Cassie was equally as shocked, but her face didn't show it in the least.
ooc: I fail xD

The unpredictability of these mares never ceased to amuse Novak. Instead of skittering away from him as she had done earlier the smaller mare stood her ground. Her ears were pinned flat out against her neck and a scathing expression of hate twisted her fine features. He scoffed at her, his teeth bared. He thought better of attacking her, and settled for a haughty glare in return before turning away from the pair. He had spent far too long aimlessly attempting to pick up the duo, there was no point pressing the point when he knew he wouldn’t get anywhere. Disgust sent his hide twitching, his tail simultaneously flicking agitatedly as he trotted away. He was right pissed. Why hadn’t he put them in their place then? He knew how to pick his battles that’s why. Stallions fought stallions; they didn’t beat up petite mares. Nonetheless, a rage was simmering under his skin; someone was going to pay for the painted duo’s mistake – they would pay dearly indeed.
OOC: crapppppy but w/e needed to end it somehow.
